At Key Stage 5 we offer AS courses through the Cambridge and Edexcel exam boards. In order to be accepted onto these courses, students will normally need a B grade at IGCSE in the subjects they wish to take to this higher level.
Due to the small size of our cohort, we offer only a limited number of subjects at AS level, depending on staff availability, and the aspirations of the students. Students are asked in February of Year 11 if they intend to stay at EGIS for their AS studies, and if so which subjects they wish to study. We will then do our utmost to recruit staff to accommodate these requests. Students need to be aware that if they later change their mind, and decide to stay, or to do different subjects, whilst we will try to accommodate such requests, we may not have the capacity to do so.
AS Subjects offered in 2011/2012 (these will change from year to year depending on staffing and student demand).
A2 (A level)
The school does not officially offer teaching at this level. However, where staffing has allowed, we have occasionally run A2 courses on an adhoc basis.
University preparation
We are happy to give our students guidance and support on entrance to University, both within Egypt and overseas. We also encourage and assist our students to find scholarships and sponsorships.
